LifeNotes Companion
Companion Guide The long run Traits

Traits

Habits come from the parts of your life you keep going.

Traits are what make your companion different from everyone else's. Your companion picks up behavior from whichever parts of your life you keep going, and a matching object appears in the room.

Zone level 5 starts a behavior

Take a life zone to level 5 and keep it among your stronger ones, and she starts doing something from it. The behavior turns up in the idle animations, and an object joins the room.

Keep a running habit going and she runs laps. Keep reading and she sits on a stack of books. You never activate anything or opt into anything.

Each default zone carries one trait

Zones you added yourself carry no trait, since somebody has to draw the behavior before it can appear.

It gets stronger twice

Each trait deepens twice more, at zone level 8 and again at 10. The stronger the zone, the more pronounced the behavior.

A trait goes quiet and stays put

Let a zone fall off and the trait goes dormant. The object stays put in the room, and the behavior appears rarely where it used to appear often.

You keep everything you earned. A dormant trait waking back up is one of the better things this app can show you, because it means you came back to something.

You do not pick them

No trait store exists, and no menu lets you pick one. Traits are not for sale at any price, in any bundle, ever.

Two people on the same subscription end up with two different animals doing different things in different rooms, and neither of them chose it. That is the idea.
