Streaks and shields
A missed day takes one day and not the streak. Shields cover it.
Streaks work the way they always did, as forgiving as ever. Her only addition is a shield charge you can buy with Coins.
A missed day costs one day
Miss a scheduled day and the streak loses a day while the habit's urgency rises. You do not go back to zero.
Today never counts as a miss. The day is not over until it is over.
Grace grows with the habit
Older habits carry more slack. Two months of keeping something earns more benefit of the doubt than starting it on Tuesday.
| Streak length | Grace days |
|---|---|
| Under a week | 2 |
| 7 days | 3 |
| 21 days | 4 |
| 66 days | 5 |
Keys land at 66 days and at 365
Milestones land at 3, 7, 21, 66, 100, 200, and 365 days. Two of them pay Keys.
- 66 days pays one Key, once per habit. This is the point at which a habit counts as formed.
- 365 days pays three Keys, once per habit.
The early three keep what they always gave you and nothing more. A Key is worth a dollar. A three day streak is not.
A shield charge swallows one missed day
It covers one missed scheduled day on one habit, and the streak holds.

Arm it in advance
Applying one to a day already gone is not possible.
Retroactive protection would let anyone buy their way out of any lapse at all, which turns a streak from a record of what happened into a number you top up. Arming ahead keeps it a record.
